As Nigeria marks another Independence Anniversary, the Wolekanle Youth Vanguard (WYV) extends warm greetings to Nigerians across the country and in the diaspora.
Independence Day is more than a celebration of our history. It is also an opportunity to reflect on our journey as a nation, acknowledge how far we have come, recognise the challenges that remain, and renew our collective commitment to building the Nigeria we all desire.
At 66, Nigeria remains a nation of enormous potential, blessed with human capital, natural resources, a vibrant youthful population and citizens whose resilience continues to keep the country moving forward. Yet, the realities confronting many Nigerians remind us that our national journey still requires purposeful leadership, stronger institutions, economic opportunities and a renewed commitment to development.
For the Wolekanle Youth Vanguard, this is where the conversation about the future of Nigeria becomes important.
We believe that the experience of governance at the state level can provide valuable lessons for the national conversation. Under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, Oyo State has pursued policies and programmes across infrastructure, public service, education, healthcare, economic development and other sectors. The Oyo State Government officially identifies financial transparency, open governance and development as key priorities of the administration.
As Nigerians look towards the future, WYV believes that the experience gathered from Oyo State deserves a place in the wider national conversation.
This is why we are proudly lending our voice to the call for Governor Seyi Makinde for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
For us, the message is not simply about changing the occupant of an office. It is about having a conversation on what kind of leadership Nigeria needs, what lessons can be transferred from state governance to the national level, and how we can build a country where progress is felt across communities and generations.
Nigeria’s next chapter requires citizens who are willing to participate, engage constructively and take responsibility for the future of the country.
This Independence Day, we are choosing to be part of that conversation.
We are choosing to look beyond the challenges of today and believe in the possibility of a stronger tomorrow.
We are choosing to support the vision of taking the experience of Oyo to the national stage.
LET US RESET NIGERIA.
Be a Resetter.
Support Governor Seyi Makinde for President.
From Oyo State to Nigeria, the message of hope, development and responsible leadership must continue to resonate.
As we celebrate our independence, may Nigeria continue to grow stronger, more prosperous and more united.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria. 🇳🇬
