The Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, has congratulated Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole Solomon, popularly known as Wolekanle, on his appointment as the Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde.

The appointment has attracted goodwill from political associates, family members, and well-wishers, particularly in Ogbomoso, where Wolekanle is known for his involvement in grassroots politics and community affairs.

Speaking on the appointment, I expressed happiness and pride over the elevation of Wolekanle, who is not only a political figure from Ogbomoso but also my cousin.

As a proud indigene of Ogbomoso from Osupa Ward, I consider his appointment a moment of personal joy and pride for our family and community. His emergence reflects the importance of grassroots participation and the contributions of individuals who have built relationships and maintained connections within their communities.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Bashorun Wolekanle and wish him wisdom, strength, and success as he assumes the responsibilities of his new office.

Beyond the appointment, I also commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his administration’s efforts to address issues affecting healthcare delivery and workers’ welfare in Oyo State.

The governor’s intervention in the doctors’ strike at the teaching hospital is a welcome development, particularly for patients who depend on the facility for medical care. Resolving the industrial dispute will help restore normal medical services and ease the difficulties experienced

patients and their families during the strike.

I also commend the reported approval of an ₦80,000 minimum wage for cleaners at the teaching hospital. These workers play an important role in maintaining cleanliness and supporting a safe healthcare environment, making their welfare an important consideration in the overall delivery of quality medical services.

The developments highlight the importance of constructive engagement between government and labour unions, as well as the need to prioritise the welfare of workers across different sectors.

I encourage the continued implementation of policies that improve working conditions, strengthen healthcare delivery, and promote the well-being of residents across Oyo State.

For the people of Ogbomoso, Wolekanle’s appointment represents an important moment for the community and its political stakeholders.

As a grassroots politician with roots in Osupa Ward, his new responsibility presents an opportunity to contribute further to governance and strengthen the relationship between the state government and communities across Oyo State.

I am particularly proud to share the same family background and ward with him. His appointment is a source of happiness to me, and I pray that he will justify the confidence reposed in him

Governor Makinde.

Once again, congratulations to my cousin, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole Solomon, popularly known as Wolekanle, on his appointment as Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde.

I wish him a successful tenure marked

dedication, humility, effective service, and meaningful contributions to the development of Oyo State.

I equally wish Governor Makinde and his administration continued success in their efforts to address the needs of the people and advance the development of the state.
