The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has commenced the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the December 29, 2026 Local Government Council Elections in the state.
The recruitment exercise, according to a statement signed
the Chairman of OYSIEC, Dr. Afees Adeniyi, will run from October 5 to October 20, 2026.
The commission urged eligible and interested applicants to register through its electronic recruitment portal within the stipulated period.
OYSIEC said the positions available for the election include Presiding Officers (PO), Assistant Presiding Officers (APO), Supervisors (SU), Ward Collation Officers (WCO), Local Government Returning Officers (LGRO), and Local Government Assistant Returning Officers (LGARO).
Interested applicants are required to register through the commission’s e-recruitment portal before the October 20 deadline.
Applicants must have a functional phone number and Android-enabled device, a functional email address, and an operational commercial bank account, in addition to the relevant educational qualifications.
For the Presiding Officer and Assistant Presiding Officer positions, applicants must possess at least an OND or NCE qualification.
Candidates seeking appointment as Supervisors and Ward Collation Officers are required to possess a minimum of BA, B.Sc. or HND.
For the positions of Local Government Returning Officer and Local Government Assistant Returning Officer, OYSIEC stated that candidates must be Chief Lecturers or their equivalent in tertiary institutions.
The commission urged interested and qualified individuals to take advantage of the recruitment window and complete their applications before the deadline.
