The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Deputy Governorship Candidate in Oyo State, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, FNSE, on Saturday embarked on an extensive 12-hour engagement with major stakeholders, community leaders and groups across Ogbomoso.
Beginning at 9am and extending into the evening, Salawu, the Babalaje of Ogbomosoland, held meetings with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ogbomoso Zone, as well as the Chief Imams of Ogbomoso, Ikoyi-Ile and Surulere.
He also interacted with representatives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, National Youth Congress, Are Alasa, the physically challenged community, market associations under ATAO, students, artisans and other community groups.

The engagements provided an opportunity for the various stakeholders to raise issues affecting their communities and discuss their expectations for the development of Ogbomoso and Oyo State.
Salawu also visited the Aare Alasa and Alapa Compound before proceeding to his family house. During a walk through Saja, he interacted with residents, supporters and other members of the community, further underscoring the grassroots focus of his visit.
Describing the outing as “a day of meaningful engagement in Ogbomoso,” Salawu said the interactions demonstrated the willingness of different groups to participate in discussions about the future political direction of the state.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the Allied Peoples Movement and its governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi, ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
“APM is our party. Bimbo Adekanmbi is our candidate for Governor of Oyo State. Together, we move. Together, we win,” Salawu said.
