Nollywood actress and producer Temitope Osoba will be laid to rest in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
The burial arrangements were contained in an obituary released
her family on her Instagram page on Monday.
According to the family, Osoba’s remains will leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital (OSUTH), Sagamu, at 9am on Thursday, while the burial service will take place between 10am and 11am at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.
The family stated that her interment would follow immediately at the Iperu Remo Cemetery, with mourners expected to wear white.
Osoba, also known as Tope Osoba, died in early August 2026 at the age of 40. She had spent nearly two decades in the Yoruba-language film industry and featured in several productions, including Oogun Mi.
About two years before her death, the actress publicly disclosed her battle with breast cancer and sought financial support for treatment and surgery. In August 2025, she announced that she had recovered and was returning to acting, describing the period as one of healing, rebranding and empowerment.
However, conflicting accounts emerged over the circumstances surrounding her death. Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, alleged that she died after being taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos, while members of her family provided a different account of her final moments.
Following the controversy, actor Yomi Fabiyi called for an investigation and autopsy to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
The family subsequently cautioned against the circulation of unverified information concerning her demise and urged the public and media to rely on statements issued through its official channels.
Osoba’s burial was initially scheduled for August 13 in Iperu Remo but was later postponed indefinitely
the family.
