The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) has announced fresh employment opportunities in Ibadan, Oyo State, with vacancies spanning project administration, facility maintenance, welding and research support.

Senior Welder
The Senior Welder position is based in Ibadan, Oyo State, and involves welding, fabrication and maintenance duties within IITA’s farm and research facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing farm machinery and implements, including tractors, irrigation equipment and heavy-duty tools.
Other responsibilities include fabricating metal structures for research facilities such as screen houses, greenhouses, irrigation frames and fencing, as well as measuring, cutting and preparing metals according to technical specifications.
Candidates are expected to have experience using MIG, TIG, stick, arc and gas welding techniques. They will also be required to carry out preventive maintenance, maintain proper records and comply with occupational health, safety and environmental standards.
Applicants should possess a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A NABTEB Technical Certificate in Welding and Fabrication will be an added advantage.
The role requires between two and four years of relevant welding and fabrication experience, preferably in a structured workshop, farm or related environment.
Research Assistant – Breeding Data Management
