The Youth Directorate of the Odidiomo Campaign Organisation has intensified its grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections, hosting key youth and political groups in a series of strategic engagement meetings.
The engagements were held on behalf of Asiwaju (Dr.) Seun Fakorede, Director-General, Youth Mobilisation and Strategy, Odidiomo Campaign Organisation, with Hon. Kunle Akindele playing host to representatives of various grassroots mobilisation groups.
The first engagement was with the Smart Boys Movement, a political organisation committed to promoting the candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) across the 36 states of Nigeria. The delegation was led
its National Coordinator, Rotarian (Hon.) Funsho Adekunle.
Speaking during the meeting, Adekunle highlighted the core values of the Smart Boys Movement, stressing the need for young people to actively participate in promoting good governance and resisting negative societal changes.

He described the movement as a social, political and cultural campaign platform driven largely
young people with a focus on societal reform, democratisation and developmental change.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss practical grassroots mobilisation strategies, with various implementation approaches adopted to strengthen the campaign structure across Oyo South.
Adekunle also referenced previous engagements with key APM stakeholders, including Prince Laja Adeoye, the APM Lagos State governorship candidate; Otunba Seye Famojuro, popularly known as King of Boys; and Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi, the APM senatorial candidate for Oyo Central.
He further pledged the commitment of the Smart Boys Movement to mobilise its members across Oyo South to actively campaign for Rt. Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, popularly known as ODIDIOMO, as the next Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District.
According to him, ODIDIOMO’s contributions and leadership qualities have demonstrated his capacity to provide effective representation at the National Assembly.
Youth Forum Advocates Voter-Centred Mobilisation
The Youth Directorate also received members of the Agbowo, Abadina & Preboyes’ Youth Forum, led
Mr. Yakubu Azeez, popularly known as King Zico.
Discussions at the meeting centred on effective grassroots mobilisation and the need to focus campaign activities on actual voters across communities.
Azeez urged mobilisers to prioritise genuine voter engagement rather than merely moving around with campaign entourages.
He also advised young people involved in the campaign not to focus solely on immediate personal gains, stressing that electoral victory would provide greater opportunities and benefits for the youth in the long term.
He called for stronger teamwork and collective commitment towards achieving sustainable development, particularly at a time when many young people remain unemployed and are seeking better opportunities.
Women Leaders Endorse Odidiomo
The series of engagements concluded with a courtesy visit
members of Women in Power and Politics (WIPP) to the Youth Directorate.
The women expressed their alignment with the vision and objectives of the Odidiomo Youth Campaign Organisation, while acknowledging the importance of supporting Rt. Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (ODIDIOMO) in his bid to represent Oyo South in the Senate.
The team leader, Chief Mrs. Olufunmi Olajumoke Olatunde, popularly known as MamaTee, called on women across Oyo South, both young and old, to come out en masse to campaign and vote for ODIDIOMO.
She reiterated the group’s belief in the APM’s agenda to “rescue and reset” Nigeria, urging women to play an active role in the political process ahead of the 2027 elections.
The engagements reaffirmed the growing emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, youth participation and women’s involvement in the campaign for ODIDIOMO across Oyo South.
