The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) has announced temporary traffic diversions and road closures ahead of the BOYE NATION/JAF Movement Concert scheduled for Monday, September 21, 2026.
The Chairman of OYRTMA, Major Adekoya Adesagba (Rtd.), announced the measures while briefing journalists at the Authority’s headquarters, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, on Saturday.
Adesagba said the traffic arrangements were designed to ensure smooth movement and protect motorists, pedestrians and other road users, particularly in view of the large number of people expected at the event.
According to him, VIPs with valid event stickers or entry passes will park at Gate 2, while other guests and attendees are expected to use the Recreation Field opposite Gate 3, Sabo, as the designated parking area.
He added that PTS buses would be stationed at the recreation field to convey attendees to the concert venue.
The OYRTMA Chairman further explained that Gates 1 and 3 would be strictly for pedestrians, with vehicles prohibited from passing through the two gates. He urged attendees to make use of the designated parking facilities instead of driving directly to the venue.
He also announced the temporary closure of roads leading to the stadium to motorists and members of the public without business at the venue, advising them to use alternative routes.
Specifically, Danax en route Sabo Recreation Junction and Queen Cinema en route Eko Tedo will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
Adesagba appealed to motorists, commercial transport operators and residents in the affected areas to plan their journeys ahead and comply with traffic signs and directives from OYRTMA personnel deployed to strategic locations.
He noted that the temporary restrictions became necessary because of the expected influx of attendees, stressing that the measures were aimed at reducing congestion and ensuring the safety of all road users.
The Chairman assured the public that OYRTMA would deploy adequate personnel to monitor traffic and respond promptly to any challenges before, during and after the concert.
He therefore called for the cooperation of residents and road users with OYRTMA and other security agencies, saying compliance with the traffic arrangements would help ensure the safe and orderly movement of people and vehicles throughout the event.
